One of my fondest memories of being in the pool as a kid is my dad setting up "diving expeditions" for me by tossing toys that sunk into the deep end and then timing my retrievals. I'd do it for hours and hours on end, until, inevitably, something having to do with my googles would end the game. Either my eyes would start aching from the edges of the lenses digging into my face, my hair would have been pulled by the rubber straps one too many times, or the worst, the silicone around the edges would no longer stop water from coming in after I'd loosen the tight straps that were giving me a headache.
