Morgan Miller on Her 6-Month-Old's Swim Lessons: "It Was All I Had to Do to Keep My Baby Girl Here"

Just under a year after their daughter's sudden and tragic passing, former Olympic skier Bode Miller's wife, Morgan, is crying "tears of hope" over having her 6-month-old son, Easton, in swim lessons. But the feeling of seeing him in the pool learning life-saving skills is a bittersweet one for Morgan, as her 19-month-old daughter, Emmy, hadn't had these skills when she found her way into a neighbor's pool unattended and drowned.

"I cried tears of hope watching my baby boy learn this life-saving skill," Morgan captioned a now-expired Instagram Story featuring her son floating on his back in the pool at his infant swimming lesson with ISR Grand Rapids. "And then tears of sadness because it was all I had to do to keep my baby girl here." In the next slide of her Story, she tagged ISR Grand Rapids in a photo of Easton with his swim instructor, with text over it that read, "Monday-Friday, 10 minutes a day," indicating Easton's swim lessons schedule.

Morgan and Bode welcomed their son on Oct. 5, 2018, but don't often share photos of him on social media. A recent snap of the sweet baby boy on Morgan's Instagram reads: "I haven't formally introduced our little light, Easton Vaughn Rek Miller. He is so special and has brought so much healing and hope. Our baby Emmy will never be replaced, but man, has this little bundle allowed us to feel a small sense of peace and in a weird way, a connection between the heavens and earth."
