Monroe Cannon Is So Adorable Channeling Mom Mariah Carey in Back-to-School Campaign

Who better to portray adolescent Mariah Carey in a campaign than the singer's own daughter? Monroe Cannon recently stepped into the spotlight to channel her mom in a back-to-school commercial for OshKosh B'gosh. Signifying a more modern direction for the 125-year-old brand, the Today Is Someday campaign honors various creatives and forward thinkers, including Outkast, Muhammad Ali, and, of course, Mariah.

In her 30-second ad, Monroe, wearing denim overalls, narrates Mariah's childhood dreams to offer joy and inspire with her songwriting. Hidden throughout are nods to Mariah's memoir and many hits, most notably her iconic 1997 album, Butterfly.

"As a little girl, I was determined to realize my dreams. Now as a mother, it brings me so much joy to see my children visualize and develop the dreams they hold in their own hearts," Mariah said in a press statement. "We did the campaign because we love the message of empowering kids to dream boldly and blaze their own path."
