LPGA Tour veteran Amy Olson is seven months pregnant and heading into her third trimester. She's also heading into the US Women's Open, where she'll compete from July 6-9 against the best golfers in the world at the iconic Pebble Beach Golf Links course in California.
"Honestly, if it wasn't this level of a championship, I would have probably stopped a couple of weeks ago," Olson told ABC News. She added: "I've had multiple dreams throughout my life. One has been to play on the LPGA tour and play professional golf at the highest level. But I also knew I always wanted to be a mom. And so, you know, this week kind of feels like the convergence of those two dreams."
Olson qualified for the Open while six months pregnant, shooting six under to score a coveted spot in the tournament. She plans to go into the course without "too many expectations," she told the LPGA. "I'm hoping to soak it all up and enjoy being on the property. Then being able to do it with a baby, all of it is a little bit overwhelming. I'm trying not to put too much pressure or expectation on it, but truly just enjoy the week."
