Alicia Vikander's Oscars Dress Finishes With an Unexpected Twist
Stars on the Oscars red carpet have a tendency to play it safe when it comes to color, and once again we've seen a red carpet awash with black or dark-hued gowns or light neutral or golden tones. Luckily, our favorite stars have switched things up when it comes to style, with a whole host of textures, embellishments, and details. One such star was Alicia Vikander, who turned to her long-term award season favorite Louis Vuitton for a look that starts out pretty and finishes with an edge.
Her black lace gown has cap sleeves and a slim silhouette, bursting out into tiers at the hips. But it's what's underneath that really caught our eye. The slight rise-and-fall hemline showed off a pair of shoes that stand out on a red carpet full of sparkly sandals and stiletto heels. Her lace-up style with chunky perspex heel adds a fun, youthful twist to a pretty, feminine look. We'd expect no less of this long-term fashion pairing of Vikander x Vuitton!
