Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this behavior is the idea that while we are looking to friends for styling ideas, they're also looking to us.

Longtime friends Brooke Tredway and Meggan Morehead have created a lifestyle destination rooted in their shared aesthetic. While they live in different cities — Brooke is in New York City and Meggan is in Chicago — the blog always keeps them connected.

Brooke's stance on style
"My style is comfortable and casual with a bit of an edge. Coming up with a look can take some trial and error (things don't always look as great on as they did in your head), so I love the creativity aspect that comes with it. Whether it's wearing sneakers with a dress or mixing feminine pieces with an edgy jacket, it's fun to come up with new concepts and try them out."
Meggan's stance on style
"My look is laid-back, comfortable, and cool. I like to wear classic pieces that can be mixed and matched with trendy items. Putting together outfits takes a lot of trial and error. That's why once you come up with the perfect look, it's so rewarding! When you find something you love, it's definitely a confidence booster. In terms of getting ready, it can take me 1 1/2 hours. My hair is SO thick and takes forever to dry. I have to take multiple breaks because my arm falls asleep while blow-drying. I can do my makeup fast, though."
