You Can Pick Your Own Price For Everlane's Sale — but There's a Catch

It's not often you stop and think about where your money goes when you scoop up a great pair of shoes on sale. But, Everlane's after-Christmas sale is about more than just a discount. The brand is letting customers choose their price for a number of items on the site – but there's a catch. When a customer chooses one of the three price options, they learn exactly where the money will go.

Take for example a pair of the brand's popular Street Shoe. Normally, the pair of pointed sneakers costs $140. With the deepest discount you can get them for $93, but Everlane says the price only covers the costs of production and shipping. Meanwhile if you choose the middle price, $111, then $18 of those dollars go to the brand to help cover overhead. If you choose the smallest percentage discount, $126, then $33 of those dollars go to Everlane, allowing the company to invest in growth.

This thoughtful model offers a new perspective on the idea of sale shopping — showing you exactly what that discount for you might mean for others. Scroll to shop a few of our favorite items on sale right now, and if the price if right, pick out something for yourself.
