Henri Bendel Luxe Jewelry Collection

Henri Bendel's New Jewelry Line Looks Way More Expensive Than It Really Is

Henri Bendel created its first in-house accessories line more than five years ago, and just as we were hooked then, we are now: this month, the famed New York-based department store has launched its own take on the fine jewelry market. Henri Bendel Luxe — a new premium line of layerable necklaces, stackable rings, bracelets, pendants, and earrings — makes you wonder, "Is this real?"

Struck by the subtle bling of Swarovski crystals, real gold finishes, and shockingly affordable price tags (not a single piece rings in over $248 with many under $100 — all the more reason to pile them on), we couldn't wait to talk to Creative Director Pina Ferlisi about how such a line came to be. See what she had to say, and then shop our favorites from the debut collection!

POPSUGAR: What inspired the launch of this new collection?

Pina Ferlisi: Luxe is inspired by the look of fine jewelry. When I started thinking about the Bendel girl and how she accessorizes her life, it became very clear to me that Luxe could play an important role in her jewelry wardrobe.
PS: What makes the line luxe to you?

PF: Its craftsmanship and wearability. We incorporated the same materials, techniques, and craftsmanship that fine jewelers have used for decades. We hand-selected authentic semiprecious stones and Swarovski crystals and set them in color tones of 12-karat gold, 12-karat rose gold, and rhodium to create a look that is modern and timeless. We see these pieces being worn every day, layered in with her real jewelry or to accent her fashion jewelry. The best part of Luxe is that these pieces are as affordable as they are aspirational.
PS: Henri Bendel is such a storied brand. How did you draw from its heritage when creating Luxe?

PF: We always draw from our heritage and strive to design and serve fashionable women as we have for the last 100-plus years, but Luxe is unlike anything we've done since launching our own line of accessories in 2008.
PS: What's next for this line?

PF: I see Luxe continuing to grow every season — we may even expand beyond jewelry. We think Luxe can be an important part of our brand.
