Prepare to Fall in Love With Marchesa's Spring 2015 Bohemian Bouquet
After years of presenting during New York Fashion Week, Marchesa made a return to London this season, rounding out day two with a stunning, ethereal show in which models resembled life-size flower fairies. British model Georgia May Jagger opened the show in an embroidered, tiered white lace gown and set the tone for the bohemian, romantic show. There were subtle 1970s influences, from the voluminous sleeves to the tiered peasant skirts, but there was also a richness synonymous with the Marchesa brand, in bird prints, stiff skirts, and the occasional shirt or vest.
But we all know what people come to see at a Marchesa show, and that's glamorous evening gowns. This season they were less structured, softer, and more diaphanous than we've ever seen from the label. This is no bad thing, however. Strewn with tiny blooms in a rainbow of pastel shades, in gilded lace, rich burgundy or pure white, each was more stunning than the next. Proving that unapologetic romance sometimes works, the floral-strewn, powder blue show closer is crying out for a red carpet moment, immediately!
