Martha Stewart Has Some Advice For Brides-to-Be With No Engagement Ring

Martha Stewart's Views on Weddings

Martha Stewart just released her 86th book — 86th, people! — and this one is titled Martha Stewart Weddings. While you'll find plenty of vendor ideas, tablescape inspiration, and other planning ideas inside, you won't be able to read about Martha's personal take on the ceremony. In a recent interview with Yahoo Style, the 74-year-old businesswoman revealed her true feelings about engagement rings:

"I think any girl who says, 'I don't want an engagement ring' is wrong because guess what, that diamond might get you through a hard time. If you get a divorce, it might be an investment and it should be an investment. It also should be an expression that you really are engaged and it should be part of the rite of passage. Why not? Give it to your daughter, give it to your son."

So all of those couples giving up the sparklers for permanent tattoos? We think Martha just might encourage you to reconsider. Read on to learn Martha's views on forgoing a dress for tailored suit separates, just like her own daughter, Alexis, did. Trendy brides be forewarned: you may not agree with Martha's advice.
