My Dream Summer Wardrobe Is From Nordstrom — and Everything Is Totally Affordable
Some people inaugurate Summer with a backyard BBQ or a trip to the beach. Me? I celebrate by going online to my favorite retailer and ogling all the clothes I wish would magically appear in my closet. This season, even I surprised myself with the amount of affordable finds in my imaginary shopping cart. Sure, I may still be lusting after a certain designer pair of clear-strap wedges just as much as the next fashion girl, but when affordable brands like Topshop deliver on the best trends of the moment, they deserve some recognition. Here, expect to see bright whites, neutral prints, and plenty of earthy textures. (What can I say? I know what I like.) And since nothing is over $140, I have no doubt some of these pieces will inevitably find their way into my closet IRL.
Puffy-Sleeve Blouse
Square neckline. Smocked bodice. Balloon sleeves. This white blouse ($89) is everything I've been looking for in a Summer top. It's billowy and effortless but still makes a statement, even with just a pair of jeans.
Tortoiseshell Hoops
From sunglasses frames to bag ring handles, I can't get enough of tortoiseshell accents this season. These tortoiseshell hoop earrings ($38) bring an earthy, artsy vibe to an outfit without compromising my neutral palette. Bonus: acetate is a completely sustainable material!
Polka Dot Wrap Skirt
I love a good wrap situation, even more so with polka dots. This skirt ($80) features both, not to mention a satiny texture and cascading ruffles for a flirty and feminine finish. I'd wear this to the office with a denim jacket and block-heel mules or on the weekend with a simple crop top and sneakers. White Pumps
There's just something about white shoes that feels fresher and more cohesive, especially when you wear as many white and denim hues as I do. These creamy leather pumps ($140) are sleek and modern, with the v-shaped cut helping to seriously elongate my legs. Plus, thanks to the wooden heel, these shoes can just as easily be worn with darker colors in the Fall.
Lightweight Shorts
Every Summer wardrobe needs a pair of easy-breezy shorts in a breathable fabric. These windowpane-printed shorts ($27) may feel like pajamas with their drawstring waist and cotton composition, but they look entirely sophisticated with the tailored cut and menswear-inspired pattern, especially when paired with a matching top ($23).
Pink Pearly Box Bag
For a pretty pop of color, a box bag ($68) in an iridescent pink is both ladylike and playful. It's also right on trend considering this sort of pearlized acrylic material is popping up everywhere.
Wrap Top
I'm constantly on the hunt for cool and interesting tops to pair with my jeans, and I gravitate toward details like one-shoulder straps, waist ties, asymmetrical buttons, or, in this case, a wrap top ($88) with a shoulder-baring cut that Meghan Markle would approve of.

Minimal and elegant, these drop earrings ($16) feature geometric shapes and a subtle shine that will help dress up a simple t-shirt.

I'm all for versatility and love me a one-piece swimsuit ($128) that can double as a casual bodysuit. The shoulder ties may be charming, but don't be fooled: the low cut in the front and back are what take this suit from sweet to sultry. Imagine this layered under medium-wash, vintage-fit jeans — dream!
Pearly Cat-Eye Sunglasses
See? Told you I was obsessed with acrylic everything. These cat-eye sunglasses ($85) take Summer's It silhouette and make them even more eye-catching with the silvery, marbleized effect.
Asymmetrical Button Dress
One-and-done pieces are so convenient for Summer (and any season, really). A denim midi dress ($33) is unfussy and easy to style — all you need are chic slides and a structured basket bag. Predictably, it's the asymmetrical horn buttons that make the piece for me. Another option I like is this white minidress ($79).
