What the Stars Could (and Should!) Wear to the Oscars

It's hard to believe, but this will be the star's first trip to the Oscars. She's nailed it all season long in high-profile designs that she's made totally her own. Vivid color, bold prints, and bare shoulders seem to be her signatures, but on Hollywood's biggest night, who will she choose?

OK, we know, we know. Jennifer Lawrence will probably wear Dior for her second nomination in a row, but it's not like that's a bad thing! Although she wears Raf Simons's designs for the house beautifully, we have some other ideas for her just in case she wants to really shock us.

We've loved seeing Julia on the red carpet this year — it's a rare treat. And she's gone from buttoned-up Dolce & Gabbana to flowing Juan Carlos Obando to short and sexy Elie Saab. Did we mention that surprise pink Valentino jumpsuit? We just know we want her to bring the drama, and that's why she's getting our nod for this year's Oscars cape.

Cate the great! Who has a more electrifying run at the Oscars? We expect nothing short of high drama, haute couture, and something we'll be swooning over for years and years to come.

The American Hustle actress may have the most feminine style of any of the nominees, sweeping from her famously princessy Oscar de la Renta gown at last year's Oscars to this sweet fuchsia Roland Mouret this year. We hope we can count on Amy for a true ballgown moment.

We're sure that Sandra already feels the Gravity of her dress choice (we had to!), but she has such a proven track record of picking dresses that flatter her forever-fit physique and beautiful face. She's branched into uncharted color territory this past year, and we're loving on it her! But we couldn't blame her if she stuck with her perennial favorite of black either.

Honoring the tradition of the previous year's winner returning to present in her category, we'll see Hathaway back at the Oscars after last year's much buzzed-about Prada. Will she stick with sweet and girlie, or will we see her continue to embrace her new, more tomboyish red carpet style? Will she wear Valentino to make up for her last-minute change in 2013, or will she pick another house? So many questions. Anne, feel free to let us in on the answers.
