Some Is Good, but More Is Better at Rachel Comey Fall 2014
At times, the excess came in oversize silhouettes at the Rachel Comey Fall 2014 presentation. In other instances, the decadence was accomplished with plush textures, piled-on layers, or mix and match prints. In all cases, the effect was the kind of downtown aesthetic that we've come to love from the designer.
As guests dined, undone models gave us a perfectly Autumn-ready version of cool: long-underwear-inspired sets adorned with plush patches, raw-edge denim midi skirts, oversize knits casually tied around the waist. Drawing reference from her menswear roots, the suiting was among the most covetable, with slouchy shoulders and rich fabrics stealing the show. And then there were accessories! Plaid trapper hats, felt eternity scarves, and totally wearable flats are assured to be seen in excess once temperatures chill next Fall.
