"I don't think that much in trends — I am sadly out of touch — and I guess if anything, I still believe in a bodysuit and jeans, which anybody would rightfully say is mid to late '70s. I think it's very attractive and often very flattering and depends on the cut of the jean and how high the waist is."

"If Carrie could pick any piece from the Jordache collection, I think she would wear the wide-leg, the high-waisted ($108). It's a high cut, more '70s with a wider leg, and it's very Charlie Girl. It's heavier denim, and I feel like she would wear that with a very high heel and blazer. It depends what season we're talking about."

"People should walk out the door feeling good, and that leaves a million different choices for people to make — a billion choices. So I think someone is attractive when they feel good. It might be something that I would never wear or consider or purchase, but they look good wearing it and feel good and are the most productive person they can be."

"Something in the middle. I think when it's superdark, it reminds me of having to break in the jean when I was a young person and how long that process took — taking them and beating them up. So I feel like some of the work is done for me. I don't like them too light for some reason. I don't wear white jeans."

"I don't really have that opinion about clothing; I don't think anything should die. I feel like if someone wants to wear something and you object to it and I wouldn't wear it, it doesn't mean that it should go away. Who are we to make some proclamation and say, 'That trend should die' when some people are just happy in it? Who cares what the rest of us think? I don't understand what has happened to all these rules, and 'she looks bad!' and dos and don'ts."
6 The Denim Style SJP Would Live In For the Rest of Her Life
"Maybe boyfriend, because it's the most forgiving and it allows all sorts of things to be going on in there. I don't know if skinny is as forgiving."

"I would say, rather than a campaign, images from periods — not surprisingly from the '70s mostly — like Robert Redford in denim, Jane Birkin in denim, Lauren Hutton and Farrah Fawcett, James Taylor, all those people in denim. You can just google them and see all sorts of amazing images, in life and publicity stills."
