Stella McCartney Unveils an Entirely Green Collection For the Red Carpet
Using only recycled and sustainably certified materials, Stella McCartney just became the first solo designer to create an entire capsule collection according to the Green Carpet Challenge (GCC) brand mark. It's a natural evolution for a designer who has long been committed to using vegan materials, but by adhering to the GCC's social, ethical, and sustainable excellence standards, Stella just one-upped herself. The result is an exclusive 13-piece eveningwear collection that also proves to fellow designers and insiders just what is possible in the realm of eco-friendly fashion. Here is what Stella had to say about her sustainable lineup:
"This collection is a huge step towards what I always have aimed to achieve, to push the boundaries and stereotypes of sustainable fashion by proving that it is possible to create and deliver beautiful, luxurious eveningwear causing little to no harm to the environment."
What's more, the style-world elite, from Anna Wintour to Hollywood's A-listers, were on hand to fete the collection's debut in London. Now, we're hoping that guests like Drew Barrymore and Alexa Chung will bring these green gowns to the red carpet.
