As someone who lives in dresses all summer (other than when I'm at the gym), it's safe to say I've no shortage of options when choosing an outfit. However, I recently picked up a mini at Old Navy that I loved so much, I wore it for 14 hours straight the first time I put it on . . . and reached for it the following weekend, too.

While its summery linen blend first drew me in, I was pleasantly surprised there was no need to iron it and it didn't noticeably wrinkle period, no matter how I sat. And, speaking of sitting, that included cross-legged on the ground and on a tall barstool (which are both often tricky for a short person in a short dress).

But that's not all. Learn the other things I loved about the fit and feel, and how I'm already planning to style it for fall, ahead.

Here's Why This Old Navy Minidress Is My New Go-To

Here's Why This Old Navy Minidress Is My New Go-To

Hands down, my favorite thing about this dress is how it feels. While I like a swingy summer mini, I can admit they're sometimes too flimsy (especially when I'm walking over a subway grate or there's a gust of wind). This linen-rayon piece is opaque yet lightweight, with a thicker texture that makes it appear much more expensive than its $33 price tag — and there's still some twirl to it!

The second day I wore it, I opted for only a Skims bandeau, as the proper strapless bra I wore with it this time added a bit of unnecessary bulk, especially since the straps are adjustable and didn't dig into my shoulders at all. I'd say someone with a smaller chest could easily wear it braless, because the smocked back meant even I felt comfortable without a proper bra underneath. But, if that's not for you, the straps aren't super thin, so a traditional bra would also work.

Now, I've worn this dress out all day and night, and then out again for the afternoon with flat sandals, but my head already has several other outfits in mind for fall, too. I'd wear it with an oversized blazer and high tops for a casual workday. I'll slip it on with flip flops and a denim jacket for a casual dog walk. Plus, I plan on topping it with a cropped crew-neck sweater to turn it into a skirt, which I'll pair with some booties. Even with plenty of options in my closet, I can safely say I'm definitely getting my money's worth with this one.
