Camila Morrone's Controversial Canadian-Tuxedo Look Turned Heads at Coachella
From coastal cowgirl to crochet accents and cargo pants galore, this past Coachella 2023 weekend brought with it some of the freshest festival fashion trends in decades. And one of the best-dressed celebs was hands-down Camila Morrone, who recently starred as Camila Alvarez in Amazon's "Daisy Jones & The Six."
The 25-year-old star embraced the polarizing Canadian-tuxedo trend for ZOEasis, a party thrown by Rachel Zoe and The Zoe Report on day two of the weekend's festivities. With other celebrities like Alessandra Ambrosio, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, and Thuso Mbedu in attendance, the star-studded event included activations from Sephora, European Wax Center, Cotton, and Sole Water.
And Morrone enjoyed visiting every one. "The little retail booths were so fun to browse," she said, adding: "I loved the venue location. It was the perfect ambiance for a day event."
As for her plans for after ZOEasis, Morrone was most excited to see one performer at Coachella that night. "Rosalía. She is my favorite artist right now," she shared. The 30-year-old singer went on to have an incredible performance at night two of Coachella, and Camila danced the night away in her denim outfit while enjoying songs like "Despechá" and "La Fama."
Morrone has been on our radar for quite some time, but her role in "Daisy Jones & The Six" truly put her on the map, especially due to the standout looks she wore. She names her "purple dress in episode 10" as her favorite, which is fitting since the color represents strength, transformation, and power — and Morrone's character, Camila Alvarez, was facing a pivotal moment in her life and relationship.
Lately, we've seen Morrone wear classic ensembles that are true to herself, so it came as no surprise that she's less concerned about the popular styles of the moment. "I am not big on trends," she says. "I like classic effortless style. I love a muted color palette. I am big on comfort and ease."
