The Biggest Fashion Trends For Fall 2021
The 7 Fashion Trends We'll All Be Happily Wearing This Fall

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you'll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.
The fall 2021 collections revealed during Fashion Week have a way of uplifting, simply because they're exactly what we want to be wearing. There are bright spots in every designer's new offering — a shiny statement dress or flash of a sequined boot (we see you, Victoria Beckham) — but these pieces are still very wearable, mixed in with cozy knit skirt sets or oversize statement vests that are fun to layer.
If you're a fashion creative and you love to mix and match, you'll have loads of fun incorporating fall's co-ord sets into your wardrobe. You have the option of keeping your prints consistent from head to toe or switching up the color scheme, or just wearing one classic pattern, like Staud's argyle. If you want to tap into your sensual side, there will be plenty of designs with cutouts to choose from that bare just enough skin and are actually rather comfortable (think turtlenecks with keyhole cutouts or open-back sweater dresses).
Pink brings unexpected edge in a fun, sugary shade that's not your average pastel, while metallics attract all the attention at once. And finally, if you want to keep on your coat once you step inside, opt for a quilted jacket that blends seamlessly with the rest of your outfit — no one will even bat an eye. It seems like designers have read our minds — if we're going to invest in new clothing, we want it to feel special, even when it doubles as loungewear, and all of these seven trends follow suit. Read through to enjoy every look, or jump ahead to the category you want to browse through.

1 Fall 2021 Trend: Cutouts
Even if you're wearing something cozy, like a knit jumper, a cutout detail at the side or back brings your look a bit of something extra, and a subtle touch of sex appeal while lounging at home. In a big, crazy world, it's all about the little details, no matter how small.

2 Fall 2021 Trend: Statement Vests
Perhaps the most unexpected but welcome trend for fall is the statement vest, layered over a long shirt to play with proportions or worn alone with a simple skirt and boot. Either way, there is a statement vest for every personality — from a tough utilitarian look at Private Policy to Staud's long, seasonal quilted puffer for the sportier set.

3 Fall 2021 Trend: Printed Sets
This season, think of your printed set as the most playfully sophisticated look in your wardrobe. Mix and match color schemes and funky patterns, or wear a classic, like argyle, from head to toe. Coordinates have never looked so creative.

4 Fall 2021 Trend: Skirt Sets
If last season belonged to the ribbed sweater dress, fall breaks the look in two, introducing the cozy, monochrome skirt set that comes in luxe, feel-good fabrics. Even though each piece on its own can be repurposed with a different outfit, when teamed up, even fuzzy slippers can't take away from the streamlined appeal.

5 Fall 2021 Trend: Sugar Pink
This season, pink is offered in the most playful hue. The sugary shade is not quite pastel, but a bit more saturated, amping up your outfit with some unexpected edge. It's a cute color, sure, but it's worn in badass ways. Don't be afraid to take it monochrome from head to toe.

7 High Shine
Whether in the form of metallic satin or shimmering sequins, getting dressed up to get noticed reaches maximum potential when you shine. This is your opportunity for that go-all-out moment, and it can come by day or night. When it comes to the high shine section of your wardrobe, make sure you invest in a piece that really speaks to your personality.
