Sunday was a big day for Paris Fashion Week. Before Balenciaga, Valentino, and Givenchy could show their Fall/Winter 2020 collections, Kanye West staged a surprise Sunday Service at 9 a.m. in Paris's Bouffes du Nord theater — and then gave out invitations to a select few guests for his Yeezy Season 8 fashion show to be held tonight, Monday, March 2.

Attendees at Kanye's special performance were impressed and inspired by the display. "First, Kanye's Sunday Service. Now, everyone is walking on water at Balenciaga. God has come to Paris Fashion Week," Lauren Sherman, executive editor of Business of Fashion, hilariously tweeted. While fashion designer and LVMH prize winner Thebe Magugu thanked Kanye "for an incredible Sunday Service this morning — feeling lifted and inspired."

Kanye has used a variety of campaigns to announce each of his Yeezy seasons — from a full collaboration with Adidas Originals for season one to seasons six and seven focusing on Kim Kardashian's social media clout and the power of celebrity in a series of staged paparazzi shots. If the season eight show follows the momentum of its Sunday Service opening act, then we're keen to see Kanye wow us with a Fall 2020 collection that aligns with his most recent, alien-like drop of the Yeezy Foam Runners in September 2019.
