Kate Middleton joined Prince William in Wales to visit seaside resort Barry Island, and she pulled out a summer favorite from 2019 — this floral Emilia Wickstead midi dress with a belt at the waist. We last saw this number teamed up with a pair of neutral wedge pumps when she attended RHS Garden Wisley last year, but here we are in 2020, and Kate's proving that pretty pink bouquets are certainly no retired trend.

This time around, Kate went for an even more relaxed feel, choosing her two-tone Castañer wedges with a tie strap at the ankles. She accessorized with dainty drop earrings and her sapphire engagement ring, leaving most of the focus on the dress — which is where it should be! It's certainly what I'm focused on and what has inspired me to pluck florals from my closet on this regular old Wednesday spent at home.

Even though there's a huge section of my closet that's gone untouched since the beginning of March — largely consisting of event-friendly midi dresses like the one Kate's wearing — now is as good a time as any to pull one out and twirl my way around the house, even if I am wearing slippers rather than Castañer wedges. Since this dress is an older style, I shopped out some inspired pieces for you to fall in love with if you're in need of a floral refresh.
