Lizzo, Chlöe, and More Best Dressed Stars at the 2022 MTV VMAs
Taking over the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, the 2022 MTV VMAs brought together memorable music performances and iconic celebrity style moments. Lizzo kicked off the night on a fashion-forward note, gracing the red carpet in a remarkable Jean Paul Gaultier couture ensemble. Styled by Brett Alan Nelson, the "About Damn Time" singer donned a voluminous, off-shoulder silk taffeta gown in black and navy. Lizzo enhanced the drama with sheer opera gloves and accessorized with layers of gold hoops, a couple of rings, and an edgy lip piercing.
Dressed in this sophisticated gown, Lizzo made a bid for the best dressed celebrity of the night. Other contenders include Anitta, who literally bared her heart in a scarlet Schiaparelli corset gown; Sabrina Carpenter, who embraced cutouts in a bedazzled Moschino maxi; and Chlöe, who sparkled in a glittery silver Zigman dress. Meanwhile, the South Korean group Blackpink also made a stylish appearance, clad in head-to-toe black dresses and separates. Dove Cameron also looked sharp in a strapless floral maxi dress. Still, the night is young — and with Nicki Minaj as the lady of the hour, plus performers like Bad Bunny, Jack Harlow, and Khalid, it will surely deliver on more fierce fashion, in line with its track record.
