H&M's Cool New Collaboration Is Making Skate Aesthetic Accessible
Skater style is trendier than ever in 2021, and the best part is that it's women who are dominating the scene this time around. Think back 20 years, and skate aesthetic was a much different landscape — for one, it was machismo that set the style tone, and it was a symbol of extreme sports culture. Back then, iconic skate and streetwear brand No Fear led the way with its wildly popular slogan and graphic T-shirts. Cut to today, and No Fear is back — but this time, the brand is exploring skater style from a women's perspective with its new collaboration with H&M.
Cocreated with the all-women skate crew known as Skate Kitchen (you might recognize them from the HBO series Betty), the collection, which consists of 23 garments and 11 accessories, is all about flipping the narrative and reimagining the No Fear heritage and mentality in a more accessible way for a new generation of progressive and inclusive women. So what can you expect? Everything from hoodies and oversize T-shirts to sneakers and stickers, all with graphic logos and a relaxed, unisex vibe. It's playful and empowering, bringing the confidence to be fearless, in style and in life, to the forefront. See our favorites from the collection ahead!
No Fear x H&M Track Pants
The black stripes on these track pants ($25) may be a subtle take on the logo trend, but make no mistake, the on-trend kelly-green hue makes a major statement. Combine the pants with a cropped top and canvas sneakers in neutral black or white for a street-style-approved look.
No Fear x H&M Puffer Vest
Skaters know that puffer vests are the ideal outer layer for skateboarding since they keep you warm but allow for maximum arm mobility. This particular puffer vest ($25) features a tonal graphic illustration for subtle dimension and works with anything and everything in your closet. Try styling it with a bra top, baggy jeans, and a bucket hat!
No Fear x H&M Oversized Hoodie
An oversize hoodie ($35) is the wear-with-everything staple every wardrobe needs, and this knitted version brings a cozy element for fall. Wear it over leggings or jeans or under shackets or puffer jackets, but however you style it this season, the roomier the fit, the better.
No Fear x H&M Pants
Carpenter-style pants are a big trend this season, and these pants ($25) bring the fall vibes thanks to the warm chocolate-brown color and contrast red stitching. All you need for the ultimate fall outfit are a creamy sweater or sweater vest and chunky flat boots.
