Thanks to the historical research done by costume designer Sandy Powell, the titular character (Emily Blunt) wears a dress based on the original gown worn at Kensington Palace, complete with ivory duchess silk satin and antique lace detail. Her accessories, also true to real life, include St. George's collar chain, an antique crystal necklace, and a sapphire paste brooch.
