These Fashion Sketches Use the World as Their Backdrop — and the Results Are Stunning

A dress made of clouds seems like something out of a dream, but for fashion illustrator and architect Shamekh Bluwi it's real. The talented artist is putting an unexpected spin on his high-fashion designs by using landscapes to complete his chic looks. Instead of filling in his sketches with tulle or lace, Shamekh cuts them out and uses the world around him as his inspiration. Where traditional designers envision prints like gingham or stripes, Shamekh's dresses feature everything from clouds to trees and buildings.

Read on to see a few of our favorites from Shamekh's Instagram feed, and prepare to be seriously inspired by the fact that fashion is everywhere, all it takes is a simple sketch to see it.
