Peplum definitely had its moment, but we can't say it lasted for very long. While an extra frill of fabric at the waist adds a feminine twist to any look, many of us traded in the little detail for slouchier silhouettes. But Kate Middleton's making a case for a flouncy hemline with her tweed long-sleeve dress by The Fold ($408) — which she chose for a visit to the Rehabilitation of Addicted Prisoners Trust — and we love the sophisticated, slightly playful look.

Read on to see her crisply tailored design in full, along with the contrast clutch and suede pumps she used to accessorize her outfit. Then boldly make the transition to Fall in a similar tweed piece — we're positive a bit of peplum will only invite more compliments at the office.
