You Must See the Lavish $31 Million Wedding of the "Kim and Kanye of China"

Right now, the Internet is obsessed with the reportedly $1 billion wedding of Khadija Uzhakhovs, who married the heir to a Russian oil fortune over the weekend in an incredibly stunning and intricate Elie Saab gown. Khadija's over-the-top nuptials has us thinking about another recent fabulous event: Chinese star Angelababy's October, 2015 wedding.

Many people actually compare Angelababy, whose real name is Angela Yang Ying, to a famous American star — she's reffered to as "the Kim Kardashian of China." 26-year-old Angelababy is a famous singer, actress, and model, so when she married leading actor Huang Xiaoming in Shanghai, China, you can bet their $31 million reception was out-of-this-world extravagant. From the castle-like cake that featured a golden carousel and towered over the couple to the 2,000-person ceremony, Angelababy needed an outfit to match. Luckily, Dior and jeweler Chaumet designed pieces that were up to par.

While the bride's ivory satin organza dress took five months to make — featuring gorgeous lace embroidery, sheer sleeves, and a 10-foot-long train — her diamond tiaras and six-carat engagement ring, which reportedly cost over $1.5 million, are just as incredible. Read on to see snaps from the pair's big day, and admire the intricacies of Angelababy's royal gown. One thing's for sure — it gives Kim's Givenchy number a run for its money.

Dior broke down the process of creating Angelababy's intricate bespoke dress on its blog.

Sheer sleeves were attached to the bodice, featuring ivory embroidery that matched the gown's full skirt.

A row of buttons was an elegant touch to each sleeve.

"To create Angelababy's bespoke wedding dress, the toile was constructed and molded on a wooden body form matching the young woman's measurements," Dior shared on Instagram.

Dior shared a sketch of Angelababy's wedding dress, writing, "Before a group of talented petites mains created her superb wedding dress, a pattern maker translated Angelababy's desires onto paper."

"Prior to the wedding, the perfect couple, Ms. Angelababy and Mr. Huang Xiaoming visited the headquarters of Chaumet at Place Vendome in Paris to select the tiaras and jewels used in the wedding. Madame Beatrice de Plinval, curator of the Chaumet museum, thoroughly explained the brand history and jewels and selected the antique tiara and necklace for Angelababy to wear on her wedding," Chaumet wrote on Instagram.
