Oh Say Can You See the Problem With Ciara's National Championship Dress?

"So, what did you think of the dress Ciara wore to sing the national anthem?" I asked my boyfriend, knowing he had surely tuned in to the College Football Playoff National Championship game between Alabama and Clemson. "Psh, it was ridiculous," he laughed. Wait, what?! Ciara performed on stage in a sequin-embellished cape dress by Yousef Al-Jasmi that, when compared to other racy red carpet gowns, was only slightly sheer.

Ciara wasn't even wearing a naked dress. She was glowing, she looked trendy, and though she did show off some cleavage from beneath a see-through bodice, to us, Ciara just looked like a silver siren.

But host of Campus Insiders Bonnie Bernstein seemed to be on the same page as my boyfriend:

Dear Ciara. You're stunning. But this is a National Championship Game. Kids are watching. Cover up.

In short, Bonnie's comment caused Internet outrage, causing many of her followers to defend Ciara's outfit choice in some pretty hilarious ways. Read on to catch a glimpse of the singer's look from all angles, and then check out the resulting Twitter controversy, which ended with Fox Sports journalist Jason Whitlock taking Ms. Bernstein's side on the issue.
