We blinked, and it's basically Valentine's Day. So while we wonder about where the first month of the New Year went, we're taking the opportunity to do some shopping — and there are plenty of good reasons to. Beyond the obvious, like a festive something to throw on for heart day, we're also in need of a few Fashion Week essentials, and the early Spring '16 arrivals are already hitting shelves. So before you wonder what happened to February (remember, we've only got 29 days!), take a cue from our editors and shop the best things to hit the shelves ahead of the new season.

Without being too obvious, I'll feel sweet and festive when I slip these SJP heels ($350) on for Valentine's Day — I like to think Carrie Bradshaw would approve!

This deep-neckline black dress from H&M ($60) is so versatile. I can already imagine myself styling it so many ways: with a skinny scarf, layered with a fitted white long-sleeve, or on its own with black high heels for a night out. It’s a great updated silhouette for an LBD.

There’s something sexy about displaying a hint of skin without revealing too much, and a crop jean that shows just a little leg is an easy way to pull it off. The Looker Crop by Mother Denim ($205) would be my ideal choice, in the perfect vintage wash and raw hem. I just can’t resist a pair of denim jeans that looks a bit beaten up.

Worn with a skirt? Sexy. Worn alone? Sexier. There isn't a piece more perfect for Valentine's Day than this two-in-one For Love & Lemons bodysuit ($180).

Between the clothes, the stars, and the crowds, this Les Petits Joueurs "Ahh" satchel ($970) sums up Fashion Week thoughts and will, no doubt, go well with a variety of different ensembles.

I love the unexpected silhouette this Shona Joy La Nina Crossover Plunged Maxi ($380) dress takes, and personally, I’m having a major gingham moment. Next step: investing in a similarly checked one-piece swimsuit!

I'm all in for any shoe trend that comes along with a little help in the height department. When I first laid eyes on the Topshop Jolene Pump ($80-$85), I had to have them. The caged details are a pretty cool feature, and the body is the perfect blend between a flat and a high heel.

Kendall and Gigi wear the Lola James Mini Me Necklace ($98-$300) to signify their friendship. While the supermodels have a golden chain that reads "KenGi," my best friend and I plan to pick these up with the date "1996" — it's the year we met.

If like me, your denim obsession knows no bounds, you'll be pleased with the way Spring is shaping up. Get a jump on the trend with Madewell's slim pencil skirt ($88), and wear it now with a chunky turtleneck and boots.

For me, the one that got away wasn't human — it was a simple heart earring, similar to these Roberto Coin 18K Yellow Gold Heart Studs ($300). The intact pair is the perfect wear-every-day replacement and is definitely my idea of a great Valentine's Day gift (*hint hint*).

I'm attempting to inject more color into my wardrobe this year, starting with this Tibi scarlet red top ($345). The vibrant color and ruffle hemline makes it a chic and flirty option for Valentine’s Day.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again: I need a beret. I plan on rocking this Parkhurst Classic Wool version ($24) with everything from dresses to jeans to my huge Winter puffer.

I think these crafty Cityscape Skyline Rings ($1,349) are so smart and super personal. They're the perfect way to pay homage to your hometown, the city you want to visit, or just one that’s special to your heart. My pick? New York.
