Kate Middleton Paid Homage to Princess Diana in a Very Memorable Dress

While we assume Kate Middleton packed her suitcase quite carefully for the royal trip to India and Bhutan, her final outfit was most important. After a lovely send-off in Alexander McQueen, the duchess joined Prince William to visit the Taj Mahal, marking the last stop on their tour.

The couple paid homage to Princess Diana by re-creating her iconic photo in front of the special landmark. Kate and William posed on the same bench, Kate showing off every angle of her gorgeous Naeem Khan dress, a look from the Indian-American designer's Resort 2015 collection. While she could have chosen an outfit more muted in color, we love that Kate opted for a number with beautiful embroidery, playing up the blue color scheme with the chandelier earrings she bought during her hike to Tiger's Nest the day before.

Kate's other accessories were minimal — neutral L.K. Bennett pumps, her Ray-Ban sunglasses, and her sapphire engagement ring — assuring us that this particular ensemble was all about her new jewelry and her now-iconic dress, a symbolic appreciation for her time spent in India. Read on to see all the details up close.
