Stella McCartney Turned the Classic Button-Down Upside Down and All Around

If there's one thing Stella McCartney has perfected, it is the art of the slouch. So when we say she sent button-downs, track suits, and denim down her Spring runway, don't expect the ordinary. Stella did it her way, which starts with eco-friendly production. This season's suede, jersey, and woven fabrics are organic, and you'd know it by looking at them since they're printed with phrases like "No leather," "And no fur," and finally, "Thanks girls." Most interestingly, though, those patent stilettos that come in metallic purple and sea green were made with a water-saving technique. (We bet Disney Princess Ariel wants to add those to her cove of collections.)

But then there are the plexiglass necklaces and earrings. While on the street, they might look like your average statement piece, in Stella's story, they are beach keepsakes, like the ones you discover scattered about in a shore house. If that's all not enough to make you want to swim straight into the Summer, see the graphic swimsuits, slick to the body under gathered trousers, lightweight caftan dresses, and reflective lenses. The Stella girl didn't leisurely make her way up to the shoreline, she danced there. For her, it's more about the destination than the journey, and her wardrobe reflects that.
