Sorry, Guys, but Evan Rachel Wood Doesn't Go For Dresses on the Red Carpet

Evan Rachel Wood is a pantsuits type of lady. So far, the star has popped up at every award show this year wearing sophisticated suit sets, ditching the notion that ladies have to wear poufy, princess-like gowns on the red carpet. Though there is nothing wrong with the latter (Evan even said so herself), the actress's current mission is to show there's more to dressing than just floor-sweeping dresses.

"Just be yourself," Evan said on the Golden Globes red carpet.

The star revealed that she once felt pressured to dress a certain way, but now that's no more. In fact, the star's been rocking pantsuits since 2015. By wearing a more androgynous look, the actress proves women can still be sexy, edgy, and beautiful without dressing in accordance with prescribed gender norms. And with fashion houses like Altuzarra dressing her, you know Evan will own the red carpet every time. For the 2017 SAG Awards, the actress chose a velvet Altuzarra pantsuit. She revealed that she had "promised [herself she'd] wear a suit to every awards show" in order to send a message that women shouldn't have to follow societal norms when it comes to dressing.

For the 2017 Golden Globes, Evan once again turned to Altuzarra for a pantsuit. The actress sported a white pussycat blouse with her black two-piece set. "I love dresses. I'm not trying to protest dresses. But I want to make sure that young girls and women know they aren't a requirement and that you don't have to wear one if you don't want to," she said on the red carpet. "Just be yourself, because your worth is more than that."

Even when Evan isn't on the red carpet, she still chooses a suit. The star wore a fiery red three-piece ensemble (check out her flared bottoms) to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

For W Magazine's pre-Golden Globes party, Evan chose a printed suit from Alberta Ferretti's Resort '17 collection.

It's another Altuzarra suit for Evan Rachel Wood at the 22nd Critics' Choice Awards.

We're not surprised when the actress showed up at Late Night With Seth Meyers in yet another pantsuit, this time in a cobalt blue.

For the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival, the star picked a black pantsuit to walk the red carpet in.
