We heart February for lots of reasons — beyond Valentine's Day, there's a lot to love about a month full of style, from Fashion Week to the Oscars. We're dressing accordingly with a closet stacked in fresh iterations on the layers we need and the details we're craving. Right. Now. Fresh takes on functional footwear are key, as are sweet knits and luxe-looking outerwear. Winter may be around for a while, but Spring stock is just hitting shelves. Read on to see what our editors — and friend designer Misha Nonoo — are shopping for the month ahead.

"The fashion world has a renewed obsession with these classic Old Skool Vans ($55). Comfortable, endlessly cool — and they go with everything. What's not to love?" — Hannah Weil McKinley, director, Fashion

"Especially during Fashion Week, when I'm headed from one place to another, it helps to have a sleek bag to pack. La Ligne's Le Weekender ($120) will allow me to pop over to a friend's place and stay the night, if need be, at a moment's notice." — Sarah Wasilak, editor, Fashion

"It's been an unusually warm Winter on the East Coast, which means I'm ready to trade in my puffer coat for this thinner sherpa-lined aviator jacket ($145). It's just as warm and the denim material gives the outerwear a cooler feel." — Marina Liao, assistant editor, Fashion

"If you haven't checked out Steve Madden's crop of shoes lately, girl where have you been? The hit retailer touched all the right notes with the Snapp slides ($80), a velvet loafer with eye-catching embroidery, and all for an affordable price." — SW

"Experimenting with the season's corset waists is easy when it comes in a wearable t-shirt like Zara's lace-up top ($30). It's about to elevate your everyday denim look." — HWM

"I'm typically a skirt girl, but in February there are days when it's just too cold to wear tights. Not only will these wide-leg pants ($250) keep me warm, but they're also a classic style I can have in my closet forever." — Misha Nonoo

"I've been craving a designer waist bag for some time, but when Kendall styled her Chanel version with a pair of fishnets, I began my search. I've always been a Miu Miu girl, so this chain-adorned fanny pack (available in boutiques worldwide) was a no-brainer." — SW

"I'm ready to show off my ankles and shoes in these crop jeans ($135). I love the four-button detail and the slightly destroyed hem on the new style. Wear it with a t-shirt for that quintessential Madewell look." — ML

"It's February, which means it's lingerie season. In my opinion, no intimate is more flattering than a structured bodysuit that hugs your curves. Stella McCartney's Olivia design ($135) is at the top of my list." — SW

"Hearts are cute, but this J.Crew's sweater embroidered with a kiss ($80) is even sweeter for Valentine's Day and beyond." — HWM

"Lately, I'm all about decorating my ears and I was smitten by Adornmonde's new Modern Luxe collection. I've got my eye on these slate gold multihoops ($82), which I can style together or separately, with the addition of a single pearl or stud." — SW

"I don't buy into 'date night' dressing; I'd rather have a dress I can wear to anything I want. So, this beautiful Self-Portrait piece ($495) is perfect. Dress it up with heels for V-Day, if you'd like, but wear it with tights and booties and maybe a turtleneck layered underneath to go almost anywhere." — HWM

"During the Winter months I wear a black turtleneck with almost everything. This fitted, thin-knit style ($195) is perfect to wear alone or to layer under sleeveless dresses, chunky sweaters, and even jumpsuits." — MN

"Scarves, hats, gloves — with all the paraphernalia that comes with cold-weather dressing I like to keep my other accessories minimal. Instead of a big shoulder bag I carry a small clutch like this one from Clare V. ($245) and always opt for the monogram service to add a personal touch." — MN

"While some ladies might prefer Coach's varsity coats, I love the shearling collar on the Icon leather trench ($1,595), a subtle little detail that takes a classic design to the next level." — SW

"You can never go wrong with personalized jewelry for Valentine's Day. I'm subtly dropping hints to my SO to pick up this gold letter necklace by Natasha Schweitzer ($359). It's handmade in Australia and as delicate as can be." — ML

"For my birthday, I'm treating myself to this beautiful multipocket YSL card holder ($225). The size is suitable for carrying your credit cards, ID, and maybe a bill or two. This is all I'll bring the next time I go out to a bar or lounge." — ML
