Clare Waight Keller Delivers Her Final Collection to Chloé Girls All Over the World

Chloé designer Clare Waight Keller took her final bow for the Parisian fashion house, leaving us with a Fall 2017 collection to be remembered. It was as if, before she began working on the new line, Clare paused to ask herself: "What would a Chloé girl look like in every decade?" She drew inspiration from the '60s — those flippy little printed dresses paired well with T-strap patent Mary Janes. But the new "butterfly wing" collar speaks to the '70s, its psychedelic shape sitting pretty on blouses and a couple of must-have coats, including one crinkled leather trench.

Really, the outerwear was prominent, and front-row star Emma Roberts was there to agree. She took over the brand's Snapchat, gushing "We loved the coats," after the finale walk. There were structured capes, plaid cocoon-like designs, and neutral furs, all of which came right to the knee. You could put any of them on over your pajamas, strap into your pumps, and swing the new Pixie bag by your side for a one-and-done look. The Pixie does come with bracelet handles that double as accessories, after all.

Finally, the soundtrack came straight from the '80s. The models strutted to "Don't You Want Me Baby" by The Human League. (The answer is yes, we want it all, baby). After seeing how the Chloé woman time travels, we'll take her wardrobe in any era, and for every season. It's a good thing Clare left us with the type of pieces that continue to deliver that inimitable bohemian flair, lightness, and free spirit. In our trend forecast, those qualities never go out of style.
