Taylor Swift might have officially acknowledged her fondness for cardigans with a namesake track on her 2020 album "Folklore" — dropping sweaters tied to her eras ever since — but she's been wearing them since she first rose to fame. The latest cardigan she released for Swifties to shop? A sparkly orange Lurex sweater that was included with the "Life of a Showgirl" box set. It retailed for $70 and sold out in under 48 hours. Swift wears the limited-edition design in a clip posted to her Instagram Highlights, and while it's impossible to know whether she's got any back-stocked, or will perhaps even grace us with a relaunch, it's easy to take inspiration from what's on the market.

An Orange Cable-Knit Cardigan
Swift released this "The Life of a Showgirl"-inspired cardigan on her online store for just 48 hours (or until supplies lasted). While it's sadly sold out at this point, the cable-knit design was emblazoned with "T.S." on the left-hand side and stars stitched down the arms. The glitzy piece was crafted from an orange tonal Lurex with glittery buttons, making for a fine indication of the costume-like outfits that are likely to be aligned with this era.

An Oversize Tweed Cardigan
Swift opted for a Chanel look at the playoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans on Jan. 18, 2025. The cardigan-coat hybrid retailed for a whopping $9,600, and she styled it with the same wool jumpsuit and chain belt it debuted with on the runway. While we're not necessarily used to seeing Swift in Chanel, the moment spoke to her potential newfound appreciation for designer labels thanks to fiancé Travis Kelce's interest.

A Blue Varsity Cardigan

A Long Brown Cardigan
Swift styled this longer cardigan over a burgundy dress while out with Karlie Kloss in Tribeca circa 2014. The look retained her signature prep even then, but judging from the spring/summer 2026 runways, we could all use a hint of salted caramel (and other neutrals) in our wardrobe this season.

A Fitted Marigold Cardigan
Swift wore a printed A-line dress with a matching marigold cardigan after an appearance on "The Katie Couric Show" in October 2012. She contrasted the vibrant color with her signature red lip, and while the combination might feel a little dated, there are plenty of similar-fitting cardigans on the market now, from pastel to butter yellow, and even the same saturated tone Swift wore here.

Ah, a classic. Towards the beginning of her career, Swift wore this black-and-white, nautical-striped cardigan through Japan's Narita International Airport in Feb. 2010. Luckily, similar V-neck cardigans are easy to come by and will forever remain a classic — especially in a slightly boxier silhouette.
