Melania Trump's Safari Suit Was More Like a Suit of Armor

When Melania Trump and First Lady of Argentina Juliana Awada met at the White House on Thursday, anyone could pretty quickly spot the differences in their outfits. Melania chose a safari green suit from Altuzarra, Juliana a red, peplum-trimmed dress. Juliana's dress looked sophisticated, but somewhat festive; Melania's looked serious and tough, like she was dressed for battle.

Any fashion girl knows that probably wasn't an accident. Our style is an extension of who we are and what we feel. Melania looked like she was trying to protect herself with the bold outfit, trying to project strength. Whether that was a calculated choice or a subconscious move, it turns out she may have needed protecting from Juliana's subtle jab. The Argentine first lady wore a pair of Aquazzura pumps — aka a pair of heels from the brand that's suing Ivanka Trump's label. Like we said, fashion says a lot about who we are. So, while we can't confirm that Juliana was defiantly calling out the administration, we can appreciate the inference. Read on to see the looks in full.
