There's a dress code for stars when they walk the red carpet and usually, it involves wearing heels. When Jennifer Garner attended the 5th annual Save the Children Illumination Gala, we, of course, expected her to dress up. The star wore a Michael Kors Collection gown and stood tall in her black, strappy pumps. She looked elegant and fancy for the special occasion.

But Jennifer also had a style secret. She had brought a back-up shoe — a pair of APL sneakers — to change into post-event. The star was spotted leaving the venue in her multicolored kicks, which peeped out from under her fringe dress.

Her choice to choose a comfortable shoe to end the night in doesn't seem too unusual. In Hollywood, stars spend hours standing in four-inch heels. We saw Viola Davis switch into platform sneakers after the 2017 Academy Awards and Katie Holmes always keeps her Stan Smiths close by. Because at the end of the night, nothing beats a pair of cushioned sneakers.
