Sisters in Style: The Fashion Brands Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle Love

Kate wore Marchesa for the first time this year — at a charity performance of 42nd Street — and for the second time at the state banquet honoring the king and queen of Spain.

Meghan wore Marchesa first — for the Elle Women in TV evening back in 2013 — and she also attended a Marchesa event in 2014.

Kate first wore Roland Mouret when she chose a navy dress to leave London in for her first tour of Canada in 2011. She has also worn a cream floor-length Roland Mouret gown for two evening events — a charity gala in 2012 and the premiere of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom in 2013 — and selected an electric blue gown for a charity event in 2016.

Meghan is close friends with the designer and used to post pictures of their meet-ups on her Instagram account, where she referred to him as "Roly." She has worn his designs on many occasions, including a teal mermaid gown in 2014.

Ever since Kate chose Alexander McQueen for her wedding dress, her name has been synonymous with the design house. The duchess has worn McQueen over and over for Trooping the Colour, Royal Ascot, Wimbledon, her sister Pippa Middleton's wedding, each of her royal tours, and black-tie functions including the BAFTAs in 2017.

Meghan is also a McQueen fan and wore a black minidress to the premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Kate loves her Jimmy Choo pumps and has assorted styles in beige, black, blue, and gray.

Just like Kate, one of Meghan's style staples is a skyscraper stiletto, and she also loves her Jimmy Choos. She has worn the nude Anouk style with many different outfits.

One of Kate's favorite go-to shoe designers is Gianvito Rossi, and she wears sandals and pumps in black and red. Her current favorite neutrals are her 105 heels in Praline.

Kate first wore a piece by the Italian design house for a state visit from the Chinese president in 2015. Since then, she has also worn a green daytime formal dress in Canada in 2016 and white lace for Ascot in 2017.

Meghan wore Dolce & Gabbana on more than one occasion on screen as Rachel Zane in Suits and also favored the designers for the Elle Women in Hollywood event in 2016.

Kate loves her Stuart Weitzman wedges and boots and has worn multiple pairs on multiple occasions, as well as the designer's sandals and pumps.

Kate pulled it out of the bag on her first outing in Preen, choosing scarlet for an evening event in Canada in 2016. The duchess loved the style of the dress so much that she also bought it in black, wearing it soon after to a charity event in the UK. Kate also wore a powder blue Preen dress for an engagement at the Natural History Museum in 2017.

Meghan has worn the exact same scarlet Preen dress as her future sister-in-law, but she wore it first for an appearance on the Today show in July 2016.

Kate has several DVF pieces in her wardrobe, including a pink paisley number that she's worn since her preroyal days, a green dress that she wore during her first royal tour in LA and again for Zara Phillips prewedding party, and a print dress that she wore on her tour of Australia. A floor-length black lace gown is clearly one of her favorites; not only did she wear it to the Royal Variety Performance in 2014, but also twice in quick succession recently — at a charity gala and for the queen and Prince Philip's 70th wedding anniversary party.

Meghan has the same DVF dress as Kate, but in the cocktail length. Meghan wore hers first back in 2012, and she has the dress in both black and navy blue.

Cartier is the royal jewelry house, which has significant meaning for both Kate and Meghan. Kate has borrowed assorted Cartier pieces from the royal collection, including the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace and halo tiara that she wore on her wedding day, as well as her own pieces, including her watch and a few necklaces like the striking piece she wore to the National Portrait Gallery for an Olympics exhibition in 2012.

Meghan has a few Cartier pieces in her jewelry box and still wears a gold Cartier bangle that was a gift from her ex-husband, Trevor Engelson. Her watch is also by the design house, and the gold and diamond thumb ring she started wearing in early 2017 has been reported to be the Cartier Juste un Clou ring.
