Models Walked Down the Gucci Runway Carrying Dragons, and That's Not Even Half of It

Milan Fashion Week kicked off with some interesting shows, and among them was Gucci. Alessandro Michele debuted his creative vision for the fashion house's Fall 2018 collection, and the show, depending on your taste, might inspire or confuse you. The designer sent 90 men's and women's looks down the runway, ranging from brightly colored accessories to sequined dresses. However, since the collection's debut, the designer has been accused of cultural appropriation for having models wear turbans.

The props, however, pretty much stole the show. Models carried dragons, snakes, and even a head down the catwalk. The runway space itself was set up like a surgical operating room. Gucci explained on Instagram that the room was meant to reflect the work of a designer, "the act of cutting, splicing, and reconstructing materials and fabrics to create a new personality and identity with them." With that in mind, take a look at Alessandro's latest collection ahead.

Gucci's Fall '18 Runway Resembled an Operating Room

According to the fashion house's Instagram, "the concept reflects the work of a designer — the act of cutting, splicing and reconstructing materials and fabrics to create a new personality and identity with them. The materials used are typical of an operating room and the environment around it: PVC on the walls and floors, fire doors with panic-bars, LED lamps, and plastic chairs like those in a waiting room."

Baby Dragons Were Used as Props

The prop was inspired by the "Legend of the baby dragon in the jar . . . the real story of an author who staged finding a baby dragon in his garage in Oxfordshire, England."
