The Dior Runway Show Took Us Right Back to a Women's March in 1968

Since arriving at her post at Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri has given the woman what she wants — from pieces as simple as the "We Should All Be Feminists" tee to sheer skirts she can proudly pair with branded underwear. Dior has become a Parisian fashion house we do not just think of when counting off a list of iconic couture gowns, but one that represents female power and confidence. Grazia Chiuri stayed on theme when she debuted her Fall 2018 collection as an ode to the women's marches of 1968. The protest posters that lined the runway were bold and colorful, and the clothes all fit the bill.

Separately and together, they are funky and modern looks with a touch of nostalgia. The quilted patchwork boots will be instant must haves, along with the peace-slogan sweaters and orange-tinted sunglasses. While brands like Chanel and Missoni have staged "women's marches" in past seasons, it's safe to say that Dior has set a trend all on its own. Grazia Chiuri is not settling for just one or two empowering shows, she's celebrating women in every way she can think to and inviting major A-list stars like Cara Delevingne and Isabelle Huppert to rep her cause.
