Madewell's Fall Denim Comes With a Feel-Good Upgrade

Madewell is doubling down on its beloved denim category, rolling out new silhouettes, washes, and — most importantly — inclusive sizing and more sustainable denim with its new Eco Collection. Launching Aug. 28, this lineup is toxic-chemical-free, designed with organic cotton sourced from GMO-free seeds, and dyed naturally using shrimp shells — yes, you read that right! From there, it's enlisted a LEED-certified factory that recycles its water and prioritizes renewable energy, resulting in denim that uses 65 percent fewer chemicals and 75 percent less water than conventional fabric.

In an effort to make its line more inclusive, Madewell has also announced extended sizing. Forty percent of styles across the retailer will be available in sizes 23-37 and in XXS-3X. While we wish the changes applied to 100 percent of the collection, this is a first step we can get behind.
