7 Body Positive Moments From the Runways That'll Make Your Heart Soar

If you haven't been keeping tabs on what's been going on this Fashion Month, NYFW was full of head-turning moments. While trends like oversize cardigans, sheer dresses paired with high-waisted underwear, and flips-flops ruled the streets, the runways were jam-packed with empowering, body positive moments.

Chromat sent models of different body types down the catwalk wearing "Sample Size" t-shirts, Rihanna included models of all sizes at her first Savage x Fenty runway show, and Iskra Lawrence walked during Paris Fashion Week. Body positive advocate Iskra Lawrence strutted her stuff during PFW at Le Defile L'Oreal Paris. The curve model seemed to have a blast walking in a figure-hugging red and black minidress.

Dolce & Gabbana's Inclusive Cast

Dolce & Gabbana's Spring 2019 runway show in Milan had one of the most diverse casts we've seen. As if that wasn't enough, the designers also had families walk down the runway so all ages were represented. Curve model Ashley Graham also strutted her stuff at the show.

If you're looking for a powerful moment, Chromat is your show. Curve models walked down the catwalk in printed "Sample Size" t-shirts, fighting against the traditional restrictive body stereotype.

Rihanna's Bodacious Savage x Fenty Runway

Leave it to Rihanna to break the internet on the last day of NYFW. Her Savage x Fenty Garden of Eden-inspired runway show featured models of all shapes showing off the lingerie collection, which includes bra sizes ranging up to 44DDD.

What do Brandon Maxwell and Rihanna have in common? They want pregnant women to feel confident in what they're wearing. Brandon Maxwell asked a pregnant Lily Aldridge to walk down the runway in a skintight red dress that was absolutely gorgeous. On the other hand, Rihanna had two models, one being Slick Woods, embrace their baby bumps wearing sexy lingerie.

Christian Siriano's Model Lineup and Empowering Tee

If there's one thing we can count on from Christian Siriano, it's that he'll showcase his gorgeous designs on models of all different body types. The designer, who's championed body positivity since the get-go, also had models rock "Vote For Cynthia" tees, in support of Cynthia Nixon's run for governor of New York.

Prabal Gurung's Diverse Cast and Colorful World

Prabal Gurung had one of the most diverse model lineups we've ever seen. The designer had models from over 35 countries walk in his colorful creations. Not only did Prabal show off his new collection on a diverse group of models, but his designs were also size-inclusive with curve models like Candice Huffine walking in the show as well.
