Another possible pick for the State Dinner is this all-diamond tiara chosen by Maxima for a trip to New Zealand in 2016 when it was worn with an asymmetrical evening gown by Claes Iversen.

State Visits usually include at least two tiara events, and Maxima has a go to for a more scaled back gala dinner in this diamond bandeau tiara, which she has made her own. It was originally a necklace given to the last woman to be queen consort of the Netherlands before Maxima, and it contains over 100 carats of diamonds.

We know royal women tend to coordinate their looks behind the scenes, so if Elizabeth II opts for pearls for the State Dinner, we could well see Maxima in this tiara, which has been part of her family's collection for over a century.
