I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of wearing suits. Most trousers end up digging into my stomach, and I just end up feeling constricted like I can't move around at all. (Not that I'll ever need to break into dance or do somersaults or anything, but hey, I'd like to if the opportunity arises.)

I own a couple of really great blazers, but they aren't necessarily my first choice when it comes to picking out an outfit. When I initially saw the POPSUGAR at Kohl's plaid suit, I thought it was cute with the sporty blue side stripes, but it was the trouser's drawstrings that really caught my attention and made me take the plunge.

Since nine times out of 10, you can usually find me in a hoodie and sneakers, I decided to push myself to wear a suit three different ways: for work, the weekend, and date night. Read on to see how I styled it. (Spoiler alert: the trousers were super comfortable, so I can dance if I want to.)

Work

Work

I decided to dress up a bit for the office by wearing a fun, tie-front POPSUGAR at Kohl's Blouse ($18, originally $44) underneath my blazer. The ruffles on the shirt also gave my outfit a polished look. I accessorized with a pair of ankle-strap heels that made me feel like I was ready to get down to business.

Date Night

Date Night

Since the drawstrings give these trousers a super laid-back feel, I styled the suit with a cozy, gray POPSUGAR at Kohl's Crop Top ($20, originally $30) that showed off a hint of skin. I finished my date-night ensemble with a pair of black Gucci mules and a bedazzled headband. I guess you could say this look is my ode to Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf.

Weekend

Weekend

Anyone who knows me knows I love sneakers. During the weekend, I styled my plaid suit with a hooded Everlane sweatshirt underneath, which acted as the perfect layering piece. I tied up my hair with a scrunchie and finished my look with a pair of Fila sneakers that are practical to run errands.

This is how one poses in a suit, right?
