Meghan Markle's Most Precious Pieces of Jewelry All Have This 1 Thing in Common

When it comes to jewelry, Meghan Markle has the pick of the crop. Between the gorgeous bandeau tiara she wore on her wedding day, the pieces that she has borrowed from the queen, and the very tasteful gifts from her husband, Prince Harry, we'd give anything to be allowed to take a peek into her jewelry box. The most meaningful jewels she owns, however, all have one thing in common: they once belonged to Princess Diana.

While she sadly never had the chance to meet the late princess, allowing Meghan to wear some of Diana's favorite pieces has been a way for the couple to keep her memory close throughout their relationship — and it all started with the Duchess of Sussex's stunning engagement ring. Out of the three diamonds it is made of, two came from Diana's personal collection, which was an important move for Harry. Ahead, take a closer look at all the times Meghan has worn some of Princess Diana's jewelry so far.

The Diamonds

When Prince Harry proposed to Meghan Markle, he did so with a stunning square-cut diamond ring, which he designed himself. While the center stone is a diamond from Botswana (where the couple have spent time together), the two smaller stones are diamonds from Harry's personal collection, which were given to him by Princess Diana.

The Aquamarine Ring

Meghan first wore this stunning baby blue, square Asprey gemstone when she and Prince Harry drove off to their evening reception after saying "I do." The ring originally belonged to Princess Diana and was a gift to Meghan from Prince Harry. What a perfect way to wear that all-important "something blue."

Meghan wore the ring for a second time while in Tonga with Prince Harry, during their first royal tour as a married couple. It perfectly complemented her custom Theia gown and Givenchy clutch.

Diana wore the Asprey gemstone in Australia in October 1996 to match with a blue one-shoulder dress at a benefit dinner.

The Butterfly Earrings and Gold Bracelet

For her first outing after announcing her pregnancy, Meghan chose a sophisticated Karen Gee dress, which she accessorized with elegant gold and diamond butterfly earrings. This pair once belonged to Diana, who wore them back in 1986 during a visit to Canada.

On the day, Meghan also wore a gold bracelet from Diana's personal collection.

Meghan wore the bracelet again when she and Harry attended a performance by Cirque du Soleil at the Royal Albert Hall.
