When Balenciaga debuted its now-ubiquitous Triple S Sneaker back in 2017, street style stars almost immediately went sneaker crazy. Fashionistas that once exclusively wore stilettos were trading in their blister-inducing shoes for sneakers that were being described as "dad shoes."

Since the Triple S craze exploded, additional trends have popped up in the sneaker world that have made it acceptable, if not chic, to wear sneakers with anything from a stirrup legging to a floral floor-length dress. And if 2019 has anything to do with it, this footwear obsession won't be going away anytime soon.

Instead of having to scour the Internet for hours upon hours to track down the hottest shoes, I've found that Nordstrom's sneaker selection can easily be your one-stop shop. If you're looking for something luxe, find the otherwise-difficult-to-locate Balenciagas with no problem on their site, or stop into a Nordstrom store to peruse the insane Nike selection. I swear, there are sneakers there you'd never see anywhere else.

Here, we take a look at the best sneaker trends ahead with direct links to where you can buy them now.

Retro Throwbacks

What's old is new again in the 2019 sneaker game, like these lime green Continental 80 Sneakers ($80) courtesy of Adidas. The O.G. Continental Sneaker debuted in the (you guessed it) '80s, and is back now in a slimmer silhouette in fabulous colors.

Sock Sneakers

The Sock Sneaker ($100) is here to stay. While we saw this style last season, we're keeping it hot for 2019, if for no other reason than it is the easiest shoe to put on and SO. INSANELY. COMFORTABLE.

Embellished Sneakers

In stark contract to the sock sneaker is the embellished sneaker, which takes a "more-the-merrier" approach. These Air Force 1 '07 XX Sneakers ($110) are from a special Nordstrom x Nike collection and are decorated with raised star rivets.

Velcro Sneakers

Do you remember Velcro sneakers from when you were a kid? They're back. Never worry about straggly, untied shoe laces again, thanks to the resurgence of this style. These Fringed Strap Sneakers ($80) come in satin, which makes for a great juxtaposition of elevated and adorable.

Dad Sneakers

This classic "dad sneaker" vibe isn't going anywhere in 2019. Think Seinfeld. Think oversized and chunky. Think tube socks. And get your hands on a pair of nondescript yet eye-catching Dad sneakers, like these Adidas Falcons ($100).
