I'm a classics girl through-and-through, and the one item that will top my list 365 days a year is a white t-shirt. While it's a layering piece in the Winter, it becomes a true wardrobe staple come Spring and Summer, so I've recently found myself taking stock of the ones that have overstayed their welcome and those that are gearing up for another season in the sun. As I prepare to donate and toss some old favorites that are not exactly looking their best and brightest, I'm on the hunt for some new additions to the crew. And after testing countless options out there, I've come up with my favorites to share with all of you.

From affordable classics you'll want to shop in bulk to more splurge-worthy specialties, consider this your ultimate list of the best white tees ahead of Summer 2019.

The Best Vintage Look:

Brand new this t-shirt might be, but Proenza Schouler's tees give the ultimate vintage vibe. They're slightly oversize with a loose neckline and crafted of a lightweight slub knit that harkens back to decades past.

The Best Oversize Tee:

Sometimes you're on the hunt for a tee that's truly oversize. Leave it to Victoria Beckham to master the look with her classic white tees. Throw it on over skinny jeans or tuck it into a pair of more tailored trousers or a skirt. This tee will have you doing your ultimate VB impression.

The Best Crop:

The Best Crop:

Vintage-inspired pieces are at the core of AMO's business. And, while I will always love them for its denim, its tees are the ultimate accompaniment. Its Babe Tee is cropped at about the height of a pair of high-waisted jeans, so I don't feel as though I'm baring my skin for all to see, but can still rock the cropped look for fun.

The Best Boxy:
everlane.com

The Best Boxy:

One of the first products that hit it big with Everlane was its boxy white tee . . . and for good reason. It gives off a boyish vibe in cut, but doesn't feel too oversize. As a result, they've crafted a tee that's fun and sporty ,but doesn't make you feel as though it is wearing you.

Everlane The Cotton Box-Cut Tee ($18)

The Best Dressy Tee:
jcrew.com

The Best Dressy Tee:

If you're looking for a tee that elevates your look, this is the one for you. While this J.Crew top will always be a great option to style with jeans, it will look equally stellar tucked into a skirt for a cocktail party or layered under a borrowed-from-the-boys tux look after hours.

J.Crew 365 Stretch T-Shirt in Tencel ($30)

The Best Slim Tee:

The Best Slim Tee:

When you're looking for that white tee that's sporty and easy to wear, but not oversize, Vince has your back. Its essential tee is just the right amount of slim without feeling tight. What's more? They have one of the best throw-on-and-go weighted weaves for Summer.

Vince Essential Crewneck Top ($75)

The Best Casual Vibe:
rag-bone.com

The Best Casual Vibe:

Rag & Bone has the elevated-casual market cornered, and their white tees are no exception. They've crafted a slightly slimmer take on the vintage cut that's made of the softest slub weave you'll ever find.

Rag & Bone The Tee ($90)

The Best Featherweight:

The Best Featherweight:

Aptly named Skin has a classic white t-shirt that quite literally feels like a second skin. While it's slim cut is not too tight to your frame, you'll truly forget you're wearing anything at all.

Skin Sabine Tee ($62)

The Best Affordable Style:

The Best Affordable Style:

One of the best parts of the new Something Navy line for Nordstrom is its ability to marry fashion, function, and affordability. It's a three-way match made in heaven, and that's just what you get with its stretchy white tee. I'm going to be styling mine with everything from jean shorts to midi skirts all summer long.

Something Navy Easy Tee ($25)

The Best Stretch:
gap.com

The Best Stretch:

Gap's t-shirt gets major points in the stretch category due to the weight of its weave. It's not so thin as to make you feel nude, but not too heavy and bulky as some spandex tees can be — it's the perfect slim-but-not-skin-tight stretch tee for those looking for a little more movement.

Gap Featherweight Short Sleeve Crewneck T-Shirt ($25)

The Best Newcomer:
alexmill.com

The Best Newcomer:

Always on the hunt for the next best thing, especially when it comes to the classics, I was thrilled to find out that new brand Alex Mill has one of the most comfortable and all-around awesome white tees out there. Slim, but not tight; easy but not oversize; it's practically the Goldilocks of classic white tees.

Alex Mill Modal Cotton Shrunken T-Shirt ($40)

The Best Scoopneck:
ayr.com

The Best Scoopneck:

AYR has taken the easy fit to the next level with a scoopneck that exposes just enough neckline without revealing anything underneath. Might I add, no matter what your jewelry style, it's the ultimate silhouette for a necklace moment, whether statement or understated and delicate.

AYR The Supercool ($65)
