After the French Open's Bodysuit Ban, Serena Williams Returns in a Statement-Making Outfit

Serena Williams made a statement in her first match at the 2019 French Open. Nearly a year after the tournament banned her from wearing bodysuits as part of its stricter dress code, the tennis player returned wearing an empowering outfit by Nike and Virgil Abloh's Off-White featuring the words mother, champion, queen, and goddess in French.

The black-and-white outfit consisted of a miniskirt, crop top with a mesh bodysuit underneath, and a zip-up jacket that fittingly resembled a cape. Once the match got underway, Serena took off the jacket and later changed into a more formfitting one, also by Nike. Serena has always been one to push fashion boundaries both on and off the court, and she clearly isn't letting seemingly arbitrary dress codes get in her way. (Oh, and by the way, she won the match.)
