Taylor Swift Is a Modern-Day Cinderella in This Ethereal Blue Dress For Vogue

Taylor Swift is going back to basics. After previously debuting a dreamy cotton-candy aesthetic to match her forthcoming album Lover, the singer was styled in timeless ensembles as the cover star for Vogue's September 2019 issue.

In the spread shot by Inez and Vindooh, Taylor sports several classic coats in anticipation of the Fall trends that will gradually start creeping up on us. In one particularly striking shot, Taylor is wearing a flowing floral-printed Givenchy dress almost resembling a butterfly — fitting, considering butterflies have been a big part of her motif lately following the snake symbolism crucial to her last album, Reputation. "My heart's been borrowed and yours has been blue. All's well that ends well, to end up with you," Taylor captioned the photo on Instagram.

Taylor, of course, also teased her collaboration with Stella McCartney, inspired by Lover. On how the partnership came to be, McCartney told writer Abby Aguirre, "We met at one of her shows and then we had a girls' night and kind of jumped straight in." She added, "In London we'll go on walks and talk about everything — life and love." The range won't, however, signal a new career in fashion for Taylor. "I really love my job right now," she said. "My focus is on music."
