Billy Porter Asked Fans to Re-Create His Met Gala Outfit, and the Outcome Is Spectacular

Billy Porter is helping fans stay creative and busy while social distancing. The Pose star asked his fans to participate in a little DIY project while staying at home, which he aptly called the #BillyPorterFashionChallenge. He tasked followers to re-create his iconic 2019 Met Gala outfit. You know, the one where he wore a custom gold "Sun God" outfit by The Blonds, which was inspired by both Diana Ross in 1975's Mahogany and Elizabeth Taylor in 1963's Cleopatra. For the Camp-themed gala last year, Billy went all out in a bedazzled catsuit that came with a pair of 10-foot wings. Yes, you read that right! He styled the bold outfit with an intricate headpiece made out of 24-karat gold and matching Giuseppe Zanotti boots.

Billy posted a picture of his outfit with the caption "OK, y'all — it's time for our first fashion challenge! Using items found ONLY in your house, give me your best recreation of my 2019 @themetgalaofficial lewk and post a photo or video on your Instagram (grid or story)! Be CREATIVE and have FUN! Get the whole family involved! Remember to tag me and use the hashtag #BillyPorterFashionChallenge. I'll share my favorites! Can't wait to see what y'all come up with, hennies! Met Gala Look by @theblondsny." Keep reading to see what fans came up with. Spoiler alert: they're pretty freakin' spot on.
