Margot Robbie Might Look Effortless at the Oscars, but Her Chanel Dress Took 205 Hours to Make

Margot Robbie, who was nominated for five Oscars at the 93rd annual Academy Awards, including best movie for Promising Young Woman (which she produced!) arrived on the red carpet in Chanel. Of course, this comes as no surprise — Robbie has been an ambassador of the French fashion house for years and has chosen the label for some of her finest moments and premieres. She worked with stylist Kate Young on the custom ennobled metallic lace mermaid dress, which was based on a look from Chanel's fall 2019 Couture collection. The dress required 205 hours of work and featured delicate straps and jeweled buttons down the center. The outfit was complete with Chanel Fine Jewelry, a Chanel embellished bag, and Aquazzura heels. "I chose this dress because it has all the craftsmanship and luxury of Chanel but feels easy and not too fussy," Margot told Vogue. With her beachy waves (and new bangs!) tied loosely into a low ponytail, she emitted glamour and elegance all at once. Read on to see Margot from every angle.
